Comet Girl vs Manticore

"I've got no choice.  There's no way I'm gonna let you go and kill people."  Comet Girl stood on the balls of her feet.  Her leg muscles rippled as she shifted her weight from side to side, waiting for the manticore to make it's move.  The heroine caught the barbed tip of the monster's spike-laden tail as it was whipped at her.  "You won't be using this again."  She said as she closed her fingers, crushing it.   The monster roared in pain and lunged at her.  She thought 'I'll make this fast, so it won't suffer.'  The superheroine punched downward, plunging her fist through it's mouth and into it's chest.  She then flexed, exploding her bicep through the back of the creature's head.
